Timeka Gunter connected with the Anne Arundel County Career Center and participated in AAWDC’s six-week FutureSuccess summer internship program. During this time, she gained valuable experience in childcare and hospitality before exploring the healthcare field through a transport internship at Baltimore Washington Medical Center (BWMC). Inspired by her exposure to healthcare, Timeka enrolled in AAWDC’s NextSuccess program, where she completed job readiness training, earned her driver’s license, and secured an internship with BWMC’s Rehabilitation department as an intake associate. After successfully completing her internship, Timeka was offered a full-time, permanent position at BWMC as a Patient Access Specialist.
