Jacob was laid off from his job as a maintenance worker at a Country Club where his responsibilities included ground keeping and irrigation maintenance. After receiving his notice, Jacob called his fried who worked at BWI Airport and was advised to connect with the BWI Workforce and Commuter Resource Center.

Jacob immediately called the center and discussed his situation with an AAWDC Client Services Representative and expressed his interest in becoming a ramp agent. The staff member told Jacob to come to the Center to begin his job search process and Jacob quickly arrived to the Center one hour later.

Jacob was matched with multiple open jobs and he completed all the applications, including an application for a ramp agent with Simplicity USA - Alaska Airlines. AAWDC contacted the hiring manager while Jacob completed the application to set up an interview. The hiring team interviewed Jacob the same day and hired him on the spot as a ramp agent.

In just one day Jacob received his layoff notice from one company and was hired by another!
