AAWDC supports workers who have been impacted by changes in the federal government with a wide variety of services, resources, and opportunities. Whether you are seeking a similar role or looking for something completely new, we can help you take the next step in your career. 

Career Services 

  • Individual Career Coaching: Work one-on-one with a Career Coach to develop a success plan that identifies challenges, sets clear goals, and maps out your career journey.
  • Career Exploration: Explore careers based on your interests! Learn about the education and skills necessary for various careers, as well as the pay, job outlook, work environment, and more. 
  • Résumé and Interview Preparation: Receive assistance with crafting, refining, and tailoring your résumé and cover letter, along with advice and mock interviews to help you excel in real job interviews. 
  • Supportive Services: AAWDC offers assistance and referrals to help address challenges such as transportation, childcare, and the need for professional attire.
  • Skills Training: Connect with opportunities to gain skills, earn certifications, and more. This can include paid and unpaid work experience, On-the-Job Training, and Registered Apprenticeships, which allow you to earn while you gain practical, hands-on experience in a supportive work environment. 
  • Job Search Assistance: Access local job listings and receive guidance on finding the right fit. 
  • Career Progression: Work with your Career Coach to discover opportunities to learn new, relevant skills that can support growth and advancement in your current career. 
  • Digital Learning Opportunities: You can access e-learning opportunities at no cost through Skillup AAWDC and Grow with Google. These platforms can help refresh your current skillset or introduce you to new skills. Career Readiness Workshops

Each week, AAWDC hosts online and in-person workshops that can help you transition to a new career. Topics range from job search strategies to navigating employment barriers and more.
